Our Story

Since Lucky Bowl’s inception, we have been mimicking Malaysia’s popular hawker markets and street food stalls to share authentic dishes with families across Tasmania. Using bold flavours and carefully selected spices and local ingredients, we create Thai and Malaysian dishes that taste sensational.

  • Director & Owner: Kenneth Lim

    Since 2010, Kenneth has dedicated his life to ensuring that Lucky Bowl Restaurants operate throughout Tasmania with an exceptionally high level of service. He has a strong passion for serving unique and authentic Thai & Malaysian dishes, and he works closely with each of the Lucky Bowl teams to bring this passion to life across all stores.

    Ken is a true innovator, and he continues to provide a delicious mouth-watering menu that features a large selection of ‘wok’ and flame dishes as well as hawker-style food that is fresh, healthy, and tastes amazingly good. No matter which Lucky Bowl store you dine with, you’ll experience Kenneth’s life work, from the first-class customer service he has instilled our team members to the bold flavours of each of our Thai & Malaysian dishes.

  • Chef: Zhenghan Lian

    Zhenghan Lian, an important member of the Lucky Bowl culinary team, brings a unique blend of skill and passion to the kitchen. Holding a Chef's Certificate and a Diploma in Hospitality Management, Zhenghan is dedicated to delivering exceptional culinary experiences. His commitment to using only the freshest ingredients, combined with his refined cooking techniques, has made him a favorite among diners.

    Zhenghan is also deeply enthusiastic about crafting innovative dishes, aiming to captivate food lovers eager to explore the rich and diverse flavors of Southeast Asia. His creativity and dedication ensure that every dish at Lucky Bowl is both a feast for the senses and a testament to his culinary expertise.

  • Chef: Antoine Wen Biao Leung

    Antoine, who was born in Hong Kong, is very good at cooking because he was taken care of and trained in his grandmother's restaurant. As a chef, he not only specializes in Cantonese food and Western food, but also Chinese food and Southeast Asian food. As Lucky Bowl's chef, he will bring his many years of cooking skills and a variety of specialty styles to our kitchen to ensure that our customers' food needs are met. He uses the freshest ingredients so that our customers can experience the delicious dishes at the Lucky Bowl.

    Antoine has completed multiple certifications and diplomas. There, he received more professional training, learned his own cooking style, and passed on these skills and experience to the team, so that the team can better serve customers.
